To view the PowerPoint Presentations, you do not have to own a copy of PowerPoint.  You may go to Microsoft's webpage http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/CD010798701033.aspx and download the PowerPoint Viewer.  The Viewer allows you to see the PowerPoint Presentations, but it will not let you edit the files.
