PPS Online Learning & Counseling

A Letter from
Principal Dennis

Hello Parents,

On Monday, April 13th, Phillips Preparatory launched our Blended Learning Curriculum for fourth quarter. The district’s Academic Continuity Plan offered two options for our families: (1) online learning or (2) educational packets. MCPSS TV broadcasts live instruction daily to supplement both options.

To support our parents, we’ve created a Phillips Parent Google Site. Through this site, we aim to organize information and make links to resources easily accessible to you. More resources will be added over this six-week instructional period.

I’m extremely proud of Team Phillips. Our innovative teachers have done a stellar job creating lessons on Google Classroom and conducting virtual meetings with students on Webex and Google Meets. Our phenomenal administrators checked out laptops and distributed academic packets. Our amazing parents are facilitating distance learning while students are home. And our outstanding pupils are taking ownership and being the self-directed, principled students described in our IB Learner Profile. This partnership will ensure our children continue to engage in the rich educational experiences that they are owed.

Thank you for your continued support. Don’t hesitate to contact us for assistance. I wish you and your families continued good health and safety.

Have a great day!

Andrea Dennis

Accessing Online Platforms

The only thing more important to us than your child's education is your child's health and wellness.  In an effort to protect all students, teachers, faculty, and staff members at our MCPSS Schools, our governor, Kay Ivey, has made the decision to close all Alabama schools for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. As educators, it is our top priority to ensure that your child is provided the instruction necessary to keep them on track and engaged in the learning process. For this reason, our teachers have worked diligently to provide our students with instruction that reflects the same rigor, challenge, and support they receive in the classroom.

All of our teachers and counselors are listed below by content area.  Once you have located your teacher, please click to find more information regarding your specific class period. Our teachers will be readily available through email should you have any questions. Simply click on the name of the teacher below that you wish to contact.  You will see information regarding that teacher's online platform and access codes along with a contact form. The contact form will go directly to that teacher's email address.
